
Biography
Carlos is a Los Angeles based visual artist, a Chicano artist that does many practices. Carlos received his Masters in Fine Arts degree from California State University of Los Angeles, his work investigates the visual language and imagery of Chicano Street Art and culture in relation to stories of his own and in the art he produces.
His works incorporates various material - drawing, painting, printmaking, murals, ceramics, tattoos, woodwork and sculpture. He plays with the boundaries of art on the street and institutional art. Carlos creates works that can be considered low art and seen on the street, but are made to be placed in galleries as high art.
βArt is a major part of life and who we are as people because it gives definition to thoughts and feelings we struggle to express. Having an attention deficit means that sometimes some do things without understanding why, but through art, some are able to reach a state of serenity where things make sense.β

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Carlos has always been involved with art and loved wandering the streets and alley ways of Los Angeles to seek new work on the walls. Carlos saw the varrio walls as a free 24/7 art gallery, he may have added some work of his own to brush up the place.
Carlos does many art forms as he is not capable of only doing one practice. He absolutely loves ceramics, tattoos, painting, and sculpture. For some, having an attention deficit is a blessing. Everyday life consists of making impulsive decisions, something that can be manifested in art. Transforming impulsivity into creativity on the daily.
